The following Christmas cookie recipes are easy to make just be sure to preheat the oven at least 10 minutes in advance, start and always use a cool baking sheet placed in the center of the oven for delicately browned cookies. The best cookie sheets are shiny on the baking surface and dull on the bottom with short or no sides. Cookie dough can be stored in the freezer for at least 7 months if packaged in an airtight container, aluminum foil or plastic wrap. When ready to bake thaw drop cookies until just soft enough to spoon onto baking sheet and for refrigerator cookies thaw just enough to slice.
