Probably one of the hardest to buy Christmas gifts would be for a teen. They tend to really want to conform to their peers so when it comes to clothes you may think you are buying just what is the hottest new look however if the teen you are buying a Christmas gift for is a follower instead of a leader it will sit in the closet until half the school is already wearing it and then it may be still in style but out of season!
So if you know the teen you are giving a Christmas gift to well and they are a follower a gift certificate to her or his favorite store may be a better route to go.
If the teen is into sports it gets easier as there are many additional must haves that go with each sport. You cannot snowboard without gloves, warm headbands and glasses or goggles. If they enjoy mountain biking again there are must have items like tools for breakdowns, tire flats, helmets etc.. Or you could introduce them to a new sport by giving them lessons as a gift. Just make sure to take into consideration where they live and being able to do it without having to take a few hours to get to the spot where they can do it.

Another suggestion for a Christmas gift for teens would be posters. They love to cover their walls with their favorite sports players, teen idols. music groups or a movie they really loved. You can find them online or at the mall.
